The catch is the ladder — two-way texting waits at the $439 Scale tier and the marketing suite is a $345/mo add-on, so the "everything" price is roughly $784/mo per shop.
Polished software with unlimited two-way SMS included at every tier — the best entry-level texting story on this list. Budget honestly, though: Basic covers only 3 users and 2 inspection templates, QuickBooks Online starts at the $399 Clever tier, and card readers run $249 plus $10/mo per device.
A strong marketing suite — review management, campaigns, an optional AI phone receptionist — on the upper tiers. The $199 Essentials plan is thin (no texting, tech app, time clocks, labor guides, inventory, or phone support), there's an unpublished one-time setup fee, and the site advertises no month-to-month terms, so ask about the contract before signing.
A capable, long-standing platform with unlimited users at every tier and solid labor-guide and tire-ordering integrations. Know the ladder before you commit: digital inspections don't exist below the $349 Platinum plan, and the online scheduler + marketing CRM belong to the $649 Premier Plus tier (or a $249/mo add-on).
Shop-Ware's "Digital Vehicle Experience" is genuinely slick and included at every tier, and the company states plainly that no annual contract is required. It's also the highest entry price on this list, with unlimited texting starting at the $389 Pro tier and the CRM/scheduler reserved for Ultimate+ (or +$249/mo).
The cheapest way into shop software, and DVI is included even at Starter. The box is small, though: 5 users max, and texting, service reminders, time clocks, QuickBooks, and the tech mobile app all wait for Turbo — plus one-time fees like $999 for the appointment scheduler and $499 for payments integration.
If you're a NAPA AutoCare center, the ecosystem fit is the draw, and the "starts at $109" floor looks friendly. Note the vendor's own hedging — every tier is "starts at" — and unlimited two-way texting requires Gold Plus at $249/mo. DVI and QuickBooks details aren't addressed on the pricing page; ask.
Manager SE earns its place through ProDemand, the industry-benchmark repair-information database, and decades of installed base. But there is no published pricing anywhere on Mitchell 1's site, and inspections, texting, and CRM are all separate add-on SKUs. If you're quote-shopping, get every add-on priced in writing.
Published entry pricing for mainstream platforms runs $199–$279/mo (Tekmetric $199, AutoLeap $199, Shop Boss $199, Shopmonkey $239, Shop-Ware $279), and the features shops actually shop for — digital inspections, texting, reminders, marketing — often sit on $349–$649/mo tiers or paid add-ons. Outliers: Torque360 starts at $89.99/mo with a 5-user cap, NAPA TRACS advertises "starts at $109/mo," and Tachlogic is $125/mo flat with everything included.
By sticker price, Torque360’s $89.99/mo Starter — but it caps at 5 users and holds texting, service reminders, time clocks, and QuickBooks for its $179.99/mo Turbo plan. By all-in price for a full feature set, Tachlogic at $125/mo flat is the lowest of the platforms compared here.
